Nursery

we had already ordered and picked out the nursery furniture when i was only 12 weeks along. can you tell we were eager? we waited until our 20 week ultrasound to decide on the rest. once we knew we were having a baby girl we were able to pick out the bedding and all the accessories for the nursery. my brother came over one saturday and helped brian paint the room as well. they painted it a pale pink with a chocolate brown border on the top, which matched the bedding we picked out. the bedding is a damask print and i am in love with it! we had so much fun picking out all the little accessories for her room and thinking about her being born and coming home to her new room! we also made a big decision these past few months....her name! after a lot of thought we decided on a name we adore. lilian grace hartstack will be our baby girl's room. brian's late grandmother was named lilian so she will be named after her. my pregnancy has been amazing and i am feeling wonderful and blessed. we are just waiting on her to arrive now!

Today was a BIG DAY!

so today felt like the first day of the rest of our lives...we went in for our 20 week ultrasound. we are not those people who would have been able to wait 9 months before knowing what we are having (heck, we could barely wait the 20 weeks who are we kidding) so the moment we could find out, we did. we even tried convincing our doctor to get us in earlier, but he insisted waiting the full 20 weeks would help our chances of FOR SURE knowing the sex. so, we are proud to announce we will be having a little girl in late january!

it was pure amazement seeing all the tiny features and having our nurse point out the chambers of the heart, the parts of the brain, every little vertebrae down the spine...it was truly the most magical thing i have ever seen. to know that little miracle is growing inside of me was just pure excitement. it made the whole pregnancy seem so much more real. being able to call her a "her" finally and refer to our "baby girl" instead of our "baby" is incredible. deep down i have thought it would be a girl all along. b and i both wrote down what we thought it would be and put our guess in an envelope and opened them after the ultrasound. he said boy, i said girl! we could not be happier that she is healthy, she has two very excited parents and lots of people who cannot wait to meet her and love on her. we haven't been able to wipe the smiles off our faces since we left the doctor's office. i love it.
