Showers, Showers, Showers!

what a fun weekend we had celebrating friends! brian's parents came down friday night and watched sis and brian and i went up north for jen and jason's couple shower. they are getting married in san diego on july 5th. we are unable to attend the wedding but were so excited to be able to celebrate with them a little while they were home! they are a wonderful couple! congrats, jen and jason!

the next day was sara's baby shower! we had been planning sara's shower for months and were so excited to host this special day for her and baby olivia! yep, another girl joining the group! her shower was a ballerina theme since sara was in ballet/dance her whole life and still teaches ballet part time at the studio were she attended. everything turned out absolutely adorable! we had frilly, tutu centerpieces and tutu cupcake toppers (dee made these and they were beyond perfect!), a t is for tutu book, wishes for baby spisak book, and a diaper bag mystery game. the shower was held at trezo...it has become our official shower/event place! sara loved every detail and it was such a memorable, fun day! we already love baby olivia and cannot wait to meet her!

after the shower brian, lilian and i walked around briarcliff and did some shopping. then we met my parents for mexican and picked up bell. my brother and sister in law were out of town and asked us to dog sit, bell. lilian was so excited to have her visit us again (she stayed with us last summer while they went on vacation). we gave her lots of attention and loved on her! we are excited to watch her again in june when they go to florida. we miss having a furry friend around!

Baby Chicks

every year the kindergarten and first grade classrooms at school have their baby chicks unit. i couldn't wait to bring lilian up and show her the chicks once they hatched! she was in heaven! one of her favorite people at school is gloria so she had a ball with gloria showing her the chicks and letting her touch them. she kept giggling and repeating "i touch baby chick." i have a feeling every time we want to go up to school now she will be requesting to see the baby chicks! we better enjoy them for this next week!

grant's cowboy party

we had a wonderful time celebrating grant's first birthday at emily and wes's house on saturday! lilian watched for grant on tv this morning (for the 1st birthday segment on fox 4) and got so excited when she saw him! she had been waiting to bust out her cute, pink cowgirl boots for the occasion. emily had the house decorated to fit the western theme in every detail possible. we enjoyed burgers and yummy sides and a delicious strawberry filled cake. thanks for a great party, wilsons! happy birthday, baby grant!

someBUNNY was sick

well our easter trip back to iowa was not all we had hoped it would be cracked up to be (do you love my corny attempt at easter jokes). we left on good friday and stopped at zona rosa to do some spring shopping and enjoy the beautiful weather. this was our first clue that miss lilian wasn't feeling well. on a usual shopping trip she is running around, checking out all the jewelry, getting her hands on about anything at her level and she was very somber and just wanted to be held the whole time (which is never the case anymore!) she slept in the car the whole way to iowa. we even stopped in maryville for mexican food (chips and dip are always a favorite for her) and she continued to sleep on brian during the whole lunch. once we got to brian's parents house she perked up a little bit at the sight of lauren and andrew and played with them for awhile. however, once we left for dinner with his whole family it was back to the somber, sleepy, hardly talking routine. by this time i was getting worried so called our doctor back here which basically said to just keep an eye on her fever and make sure she was getting plenty of liquids so she wouldn't get dehydrated. grandma helped in this department and had a stock pile of popsicles which came in handy! saturday we had hoped to go to a few easter egg hunts but were not able to go since we didn't want her around any other kids for fear of getting them sick. we stayed around grandma's house and she enjoyed the extra attention and more popsicles! that night she seemed to be more herself and her fever was down to about 99. we were hopeful that sunday morning she would wake up refreshed and able to enjoy easter sunday with family. no luck though, she woke up the worst she had been...hardly talking, just wanting me to hold her and popsicles would not even help! we decided to just get on the road and take her to urgent care and make sure it wasn't anything more serious. thankfully, she checked out fine and they said it was probably a stomach virus that was going around. they said to keep doing what we were doing with the tylenol/motrin and liquids. grammy and pops brought her over her easter basket in an attempt to cheer her up but she was still super quiet and unresponsive (even to her favorite minnie basket!). we were so sad to miss out on both family gatherings. :( by sunday night she was pretty much back to herself, she opened her basket and wanted to play with her toys and was finally acting like her sweet self again.
