lilian's stats...
height 34 inches (55%) this is the highest she has been in percentiles for awhile, we were beaming! ha!
weight 25 lb (35%)
her 2 year check-up went amazing! brian and i had been emailing all day the day of the appointment speaking about how much we were dreading the appointment (she usually is so happy in the waiting room but the moment she goes into the "room" she throws a fit). this time for some reason she was perfect (even through over an hour wait!) we were so proud. no tears after a shot (flu shot) and getting her finger pricked (to test for anemia). she chatted with the nurse (who quickly became her favorite once she brought minnie, mickey, donald, etc. stickers for her!) lilian even went up to dr. diaz and wanted her to hold her during the check-up...definitely a first at the doctor's office!
dr. diaz said she was doing amazing with her development! lilian tried to impress her by telling her when her birthday was (a not all that clear january 27th, ha!) and did her counting and pointing out letters. :)
activities she loves...
coloring (she constantly asks brian and me to draw "mommy, daddy, baby" or her gabba people)
playing with her little people house (this is very entertaining to sit back and watch her make up voices/conversations for the people...just little things like "mommy go potty" or "baby sleeping" watching their little imaginations at work astonishes me on a daily basis)
loves her baby alive doll from christmas that she can feed
still loves reading books...some favorites include: her abc book, if kisses were colors, nursery rhymes, dinosaur counting book, what i like about me, peek-a-who
she got really into mickey mouse around christmas time and continues to love anything mickey (or the gang!) hence, the minnie mouse bday party theme (though she would have loved having it mickey, mommy wanted the pink!)
puzzles and stacking toys...loves all the melissa and doug puzzles and wooden toys
loves the melissa and doug fishing puzzle!
new learning...
can count up to 15 really well, tries to go from 15 to 20 and gets a little confused! they are all in there but not the right order sometimes!
knows most all of her letters and their sounds (thank you leap frog, she loves her froggy video and asks for it in the car...letter factory gets most of the credit for this!)
can walk down the stairs feet first (though it still makes me nervous!)
knows all her colors
talks in short phrases/sentences...learns new words every day which is so fun!
has gone potty in the big girl potty once (over christmas break, she initiated this!) has not shown interest since and we are just letting her lead the way on this front. i am hopeful maybe over spring break while we are home to work with her she'll take more of an interest.
understanding more about feelings...knows when a child/animal in the book is sad/happy, etc.
she has been a HUGE daddy's girl these last few weeks. i am not going to lie this can sting from time to time but i know they go in their stages. she always wants him to come get her out of the crib in the morning, feed her breakfast, etc. it is pretty comical and i have to remind myself not to take it personal, ha!
she is the love of our lives. we are blessed beyond belief to have such a thriving toddler. what a joy it is to be her parents! more pictures from her big party coming soon!
